Keep it comfortable and useful.
Make room for everyone
- Keep participation seated by default.
- Display and read the prompt aloud.
- Allow anyone to pass, write, or contribute through a tablemate.
Watch out for
- Never identify someone as the quietest person.
- Do not require a previously quiet participant to speak first; written contribution and passing remain valid.
For the group
Here’s what to do.
- 1
Give everyone 30 silent seconds to write or think of one point from the previous segment.
- 2
Ask the table to make room first for anyone who has not had much airtime and would like to begin.
- 3
Contributors get up to 15 uninterrupted seconds each.
- 4
Give the table one minute to assemble a three-point reconstruction.
