What to say
“Athletes reset before a free throw; gamers reset before the next match. We are taking ninety seconds: in four, hold four, out four, hold four. Normal breathing is fine too.”

Keep it comfortable and useful.
Make room for everyone
- Normal breathing while watching the count is always acceptable.
- No one must close their eyes or change posture.
- Students who feel uncomfortable may use a silent finger-tracing pattern instead.
Watch out for
- Do not introduce it as 'calming down' or require anyone to regulate on command.
- Do not attach a lesson, reflection, or public share-out afterward.
- Announce the length, honor it, and move directly into the next task.
